Man, I really can’t see any situation where this works out for Beth. She *does* need the medical attention, but the hospital is going to want to get in contact with her parents. And I don’t think the system is equipped to really recognize how harmful they are to her. They’re going to want to send her with her mom, and the fact that she ran away and got hurt is going to serve as fuel for her parents’ negative attitudes toward her. Sucks.
