Makeup is for everyone but trans women should be allowed to see themselves in fictional characters without being harassed about it.
This is gonna make it hurt a bit extra if Frank actually falls for Anna like he did in Cheap Thrills. Except this one will feel a lot more human and I know it’s going to tear me apart since Anna is gay. ;-; But I definitely stan a platonic relationship. Let’s freaking go.
Something I love about Frank is that he’s not a stupid guy at all, or a creep. He’s just been neglected and failed by everyone who should have been there for him. Being around Anna, someone who takes him seriously and treats him with respect, is such a wonderful influence for him. I love their dynamic and friendship.
I don’t know why, for me, this makes the scene in Cheap Thrills where Frank gives Anna his own shirt because she got sick on herself, and everyone accuses him of being creep EXTRA sad. Because in my eyes they probably did stuff like this in Cheap Thrills too. We just didn’t see it. And they have a soft, tender friendship, where even in the early 2000s Anna is being Cool and just putting makeup on Frank to be sweet. And complimenting his bird facts! So re-thinking that scene, I really just imagine all he thought was “My friend shouldn’t have to wake up in puke. I’ve done that too many times. She would (maybe?) do the same for me.”
