Nooooope. You don’t get to play the, “Sorry, I was just kidding,” card. Yeah, Jeordie shoulda said something about it way sooner, but any time he brought up something that he was interested in, ya coulda at least told him ya were just teasing and attempted to take an interest in what he was talking about instead of just blowing his interests off like they were completely unimportant.
I take Jenna as sincere. She’s incredibly immature and also self centered. And our boy absolutely doesn’t owe it to her to be her boyfriend. But he also hasn’t been very clear with his unhappiness. Maybe they will both have learnt something for their next relationship
You know what? That’s a legitimate apology. “I was just teasing” is crappy, but… “I didn’t know it bothered you so much” isn’t followed up by anything else. There’s no but, there’s no “you should have just taken it”, it’s just “I was trying to do X, but it was really doing Y. Sorry about that.” No buts, just… explaining. She’s not perfect, but she’s not the worst either, lmao. And yes her reason for wanting Jeordie to work at the resort is a little selfish, but… I can also really relate to wanting someone you trust around you in an environment you aren’t comfortable in. They’re probably breaking up for real here, but I think they’ll both learn something from this.
Actually, thinking of it, has ANYONE actually brought it up to her how she comes across to others? So far everyone’s said something bad about her behavior, but only ever behind her back. I wonder if part of why it never occurs to her that she’s annoying people is because they just… never tell her?
I’ve been both too assertive and too passive at different points in my life, and I can relate to both of them in this situation.
Their primary issue is that they’re just too socially inexperienced (or at least haven’t had the time and the self-awareness to adapt their behavior towards the other) to make such a contrasting relationship work.
If they were older and more mature, maybe things would look better for them. But at this point in their mental development, the relationship blowing up was a foregone conclusion.
i can definitely relate to jenna when it comes to older guys being creeps. it’s so hard when yr a teenager, cause it feels like there’s nothing you can do about it. you can’t get mad or defensive cause you fear the consequences

It’s kind of sweet she does want to spend more time with him. It’s just a shame that neither of them had communicated all of this before.
