Good priests, the ones actually into expansive theology, Get It. Even 20 years after I left Christianity and dropped my intentions of being a chaplain, even now that I’m so far away from that world that I may as well be in another dimension, I still occasionally seek out priests like that because they embrace the opportunity to drop the mask of what is expected of them by the rank-and-file, and actually *think* about things. I remember one who regularly snuck in Buddhist theology and based entire sermons on teachings from Thich Nhat Hanh (without letting on where it came from), and his congregation ate it up. I suspect, unfortunately, that the church this family attends may not be led by one of those.
I forget, priests like it when you do this right?
