I know, but it’s becoming clearer and clearer that there’s a whole network of people in Rigsby who know each other and ‘go way back’, and Jeordie and his family aren’t part of that network, even though they’ve lived there for years. Same for Frank and Anna. Even though the manager is admittedly being fairly reasonable, he’s still part of the constellation of townspeople who hold institutional power over Rigsby’s minority and disenfranchised populations.
Awkward as hell conversation, but it feels like the manager is at least trying to like… accept Jeordie at his word despite company policies and be at least slightly supportive. Granted it’s not cool to insult Jenna at the same time but at this point I’ll take what I can get for Jeordie.
The lost of people on this town whom I want to kill is getting longer and longer
I feel that that’s the manager’s way of saying, “I know it’s not you, Jeordie.”
