Seeing the backstory of how Anna and Frank came to be so close to each other (albeit in very different ways) has been so satisfying to experience. Please keep up the beautiful updates!
This has been SUPERBLY written, with excellent character development for both Anna and Frank! We definitely get below the surface to see what makes them tick and how they deal with life. WELL-DONE. 🙂
It’s good to see your work again, I read the original cheap thrills before it went on hiatus. I’m loving the new story and seeing new sides of the characters
I love how Frank casually compliments Anna on being smarter than him without a hint of resentment. We’ve seen her getting more an more self-conscious about being nerdy through interactions with others, as if it’s something she doesn’t deserve, or a wedge between her and the people in her life. (Especially shitty for a kid feeling scared and alienated about being gay.) I seriously hope that she continues taking cues from Frank when it comes to accepting herself without shame.
Like everyone else, I’ve really enjoyed getting to see how Frank and Anna became friends, and more of what makes them tick, as individuals.
I don’t know if their backstory was the same in Cheap Thrills, but those original undertones of Frank jokingly hitting on Anna and coming off as a possible threat (from an outsider perspective, at least) hit VERY different without an exploration into WHY they’re so inseparable.
This chapter is actually the only chapter that is canon (minus a few details) to both RWI and CT, so these events happened in CT canon as well. That said, Frank is a little bit of a different character in RWI vs CT. His backstory is the same, but in RWI he’s maybe a little less…nihilistic? Or just as nihilistic but his feelings about it are different? Not sure how to explain it, but the character is a bit different.
This comic is honestly really great. Thanks.
YOUR PROFILE PICTURE, THOUGH 😂

Seems like a blessing but is actually a burden. Well now doesn’t that sound like the inverse of Anna and Frank :p
