It feels like this is some long-term resentment that’s just now bubbling over. Kierie was forced to start working at 14 and didn’t get to do extracurriculars like Anna can. And iirc, she’s stuck working a job with high stress and shit pay for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile Anna doesn’t have to work, and she’s smart and gets good grades. Her future is open and full of possibility. And then Kierie comes home from her shitty job to find Anna declaring she’s staying over tonight, even though it’s clear Kierie doesn’t really want her there. We get why, we saw what happened earlier, but she didn’t.
It also feels like there’s this whole dynamic between them about Anna being smarter than Kierie. When Kierie wants to put Anna down, she calls her “a fucking dork” who likes “nerd shit.” And when Anna wants to hit back, she deliberately misconstrues Kierie’s statement to imply she’s ignorant. Kierie immediately replies that she isn’t stupid, and to prove it says a bunch of stuff that isn’t actually correct. So Anna gets to flex how smart she is, which makes Kierie desperate to be able to call her stupid. It seems like she’s generally a good sister who’s there for Anna when she needs it, which is why Anna felt confident in going there. Tonight’s just the night it all bubbles over, the night when Anna really needed to feel like there’s a place she belongs.
Frank going in for an Aniplex head tilt?
my respect for Kierie is draining fast 🙁 some people are just no fun when they’re drunk
This exchange had me curious so I hit up google, as my knowledge on reptiles and such is limited.
Legless lizards and snakes are not the same thing, the more you know 🙂
Did not mean to post that as a reply
I didn’t know legless lizards existed either! You learn something every day.

Very good analysis! Of course, they’re both drunk and stoned, that tends to raise tempers and start arguments. 😉
squints in reptile
Why do I feel like it’s about to go down?
